FIVE WEST is located in Royal Buildings in the heart of the seaside village of Tighnabruaich in Argyll & Bute.

It occupies a Victorian property built in the late 1860s which, over the years, has been home to many different businesses including a bakery, a butcher, a haberdashery and shoemaker.

The building has a long history of providing food and drink to both locals and visitors, including a period of time as The Tighnabruaich Restaurant in the early 20th century

In more recent years, from 2001, it operated as the Cranachan shop and tearoom and in current ownership has undergone a comprehensive programme of refurbishment to create a flexible social and cultural hub offering space to hire.

The building has an attractively proportioned interior with many original and new features including wood burning stoves, cast iron pillars and tongue and groove panelling. The renovation, being completed at start of 2020 incorporates these features to create a comfortable and stylish environment.

The FIVE WEST development has also been home to the Kyles Rowing Club. Formed in late 2011 the Club built two St Ayles Skiffs. The first regatta hosted by the club was in July 2013, timed to coincide with the visit of some thirty stunning classic boats to the area as part of the 2013 Fife Regatta.
